Change of the speed limit for Automated Driving Systems

A new milestone in mobility has been achieved with the adoption of the proposal to increase the maximum driving speed with the Automated Driving Systems from the current limit of 60 km/h to 130 km/h on motorways for passenger cars (Category M1) and light commercial vehicles (Category N1).

EU Regulation unifying procedures and technical specifications for the type-approval of the automated driving systems (ADS)

On September 15, 2022 a new Regulation of the European Commission entered into force. August 26, 2022 the EC has published the COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING REGULATION (EU) 2022/1426 of 5 August 2022 laying down rules for the application of Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards uniform procedures and technical specifications for the type-approval of the automated driving system (ADS) of fully automated vehicles.
