SAFE-UP workshops

Motor Transport Institute’s Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Competence Centre (CK:PAP) is an expert institution involved in both research and development and monitoring of projects implemented in other countries, which allows the application of their results in Poland. On May 9, 2023, workshops of the European SAFE-UP project took place, the aim of which is to increase safety of motorcyclists. The expert meeting was attended by a representative of CK:PAP.

„Green light” for „hands-off, eyes-on” on UK motorways

On April 13, 2023, the UK Department for Transport gave Ford Motor Company permission to use Advanced Driver Assistance Technology (BlueCruise), enabling “hands-off, eyes-on” driving on selected motorways in England, Scotland and Wales, referred to as the Blue Zones, currently covering approximately 3,700 km.

CK:PAP during the International TSL Fair

The International Transport, Shipping and Logistics Fair is an event addressed to companies, institutions and people interested in implementing new technologies, innovative products or services related to transport, logistics and storage. The substantive partner of this year's, fourth edition of the fair, which took place on April 4-6, 2023 at Ptak Warsaw Expo, was the Motor Transport Institute (ITS). The motto of the event was "Digitization and Innovation in Road Transport".

The Data Act approved by the European Parliament

The European Commission aims to develop solutions in the field of standardizing the rules of access to data and the free flow of data in the EU, which will bring benefits to enterprises, scientists and public administration. Data is one of the drivers of innovation, so the issues of formulating rules defining who and when can access them need to be regulated.

Legal regulations regarding the terms used for automated driving systems

From the beginning of January 2023, a new law was introduced in the US state of California. The regulations prohibit the use by vehicle manufacturers and dealers of system names and functions descriptions that may imply the possibility of driving without the participation of the driver (Senate Bill No. 1398). The limitation applies to descriptions of functionalities that do not result directly from the actual capabilities of the vehicles.
