On February 17, 2023, the Electromobility and Autonomous Transport Section of the Committee on Transport Polish Academy of Sciences meeting, chaired by the head of the Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Competence Centre, prof. Marcin Ślęzak, Ph.D., D.Sc., was held at the Faculty of Transport of the Warsaw University of Technology.
On February 27, 2023 - March 1, 2023, Motor Transport Institute’s Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Competence Centre (CK:PAP) experts participated in the Machine Diagnostics Symposium.
On January 26, 2023, the DRIVE PILOT system from Mercedes-Benz was the first and only one so far to be approved for use on public roads in the state of Nevada (United States). Level 3 SAE system has been implemented in a serial vehicle manufactured German brand.
From the beginning of January 2023, a new law was introduced in the US state of California. The regulations prohibit the use by vehicle manufacturers and dealers of system names and functions descriptions that may imply the possibility of driving without the participation of the driver (Senate Bill No. 1398). The limitation applies to descriptions of functionalities that do not result directly from the actual capabilities of the vehicles.
On January 17, 2023, experts of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Competence Centre participated in the Information and Networking event on Work Program 2023 topics organized by the CCAM Association in Brussels. The event aimed to enable cooperation between the association members, facilitate direct contacts and build new consortia.
The position paper drafted by the ITS CK:PAP team and EFA has been published on the European Driving Schools Association website. The document includes e.g. recommendations on new methods of driver training in the safe use of driver assistance systems.
On December 1, 2022 the third legislative workshop organized by CK:PAP took place. This time the meeting was hosted by Aptiv at their technical center in Krakow.
On the 6th of December, Delivery Couple company held a meeting with the experts of CK:PAP and the Ministry of Infrastructure.
A new milestone in mobility has been achieved with the adoption of the proposal to increase the maximum driving speed with the Automated Driving Systems from the current limit of 60 km/h to 130 km/h on motorways for passenger cars (Category M1) and light commercial vehicles (Category N1).
