On April 15-19, 2024, Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Competence Centre (CK:PAP) experts Anna Niedzicka and Aleksandra Rodak are joining the Dewesoft Measurement Conference 2024, taking place in Laško (Slovenia). This international event is filled with many interesting sessions, workshops and demonstrations. On the exhibition space, experts from various fields present new measurement technologies for applications including automotive area, but also monitoring the condition of structures and aerospace applications (e.g. Dewesoft and NASA have developed a modern telemetry system enabling monitoring of hundreds of thousands of parameters in real time).

The AV-PL-ROAD project "Polish Road to Automation of Road Transport" implemented in 2018-2021 by a consortium consisting of: the Ministry of Infrastructure (MI), the Motor Transport Institute (ITS) and the Warsaw University of Technology (PW) and also the activities undertaken by the Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Competence Centre (CK:PAP), which was established as part of this project resulted in the development of a draft act amending the Road Traffic Law.

The show of consumer electronics and new technologies - CES 2024 (Consumer Electronics Show) took place on January 7-12, 2024 in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA). During the fair, the following items are presented: prototypes, new products or services. The event, which has been organized annually since 1967, sets trends and defines prospects for the development of innovative technologies.

Our country is facing a paradox - on the one hand, we have outstanding engineers and are one of the leaders in the development of automotive technologies, on the other hand, regulations limit the testing of autonomous vehicles on Polish roads. An article by Jolanta Szymczyk-Przewoźna in Dziennik Gazeta Prawna (DGP) of February 6, 2024 describes the barriers faced by companies wanting to test these innovative solutions.

On January 26, 2024, as part of the series of debates " Discussion at Ratuszowa Street", an expert meeting dedicated to issues related to autonomous vehicles was held. The debate was attended by: Katarzyna Dobrzańska-Junco from the Małopolska Road Safety Council and prof. Marcin Ślęzak, director of the Motor Transport Institute (ITS), head of the Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Competence Centre (CK:PAP).

The team of the Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Competence Center (CK:PAP) has joined the group of partners and co-organizers of Droniada Tech by Silesian University of Technology - a conference on robotic mobility that will take place on June 4-5, 2024 at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów. The event is part of Droniada 2024 - a multi-day meeting consisting of a technological competition, workshops, conferences and shows.

Stress accompanies drivers almost every day. While driving, if we are not stressed due to our motivation - rushing on the way to a meeting, being angry at a traffic jam - we can still be exposed to a stressful situation at any time caused by the behaviour of other road users. The phenomenon of stress is very complex. Despite many years of research and a significant number of publications in this field, detecting stress in order to reduce its negative effects on driving safety is still a challenge for the automotive sector.
