On October 19-20, 2022 CK:PAP experts visited the Applus+ IDIADA headquarters near Barcelona.

Applus+ IDIADA is a global partner to the automotive industry with over 30 years’ experience supporting its clients in product development activities by providing design, engineering, testing and homologation services.

The subject of the meeting was a discussion on the common possibilities of establishing closer cooperation. CK:PAP experts had the opportunity to become familiar with selected test objects located in the center, including test track – both highway modules and platforms for testing driving automation systems. Later ITS representatives had the opportunity to visit a passive safety laboratory, where IDIADA is crash tested under the Euro NCAP program. Applus+ IDIADA is a body certified by Euro NCAP, NHTSA (US-NCAP) and ASEAN NCAP for vehicle evaluation assessment.

Last but not least, the experts of CK: PAP had a chance to visit driving simulator laboratory, which included a static and dynamic simulator. Both solutions are similar to the ones being used in Laboratory of Transport Psychology and Driving Simulators at ITS. To exploit common research opportunities in this area a dedicated online meeting with the Human Factors team will be organized soon and hopefully it will be possible for both teams to arrange cooperation in this area.
