Functional Vision Analyzer (FVA)
The FVA device is a complex tester that allows you to test some human vision functions. That are mainly used by drivers for realize contrast vision tests.
The FVA device is a complex ophthalmic tester that allows for advanced examination human vision functions. It is innovative device on the polish market, used only in several leading clinical centres. FVA is mainly used by drivers to test contrast vision. The measurement is based on the assessment of the contrast sensitivity of the examined person and the assessment of their ability to see. Such examination usually consists of presenting the optotype against a background of different brightness levels.
In addition, the device has possibility to examine tests for: distance visual acuity (6 m, ETDRS system), near vision acuity (40 cm, ETDRS system), spatial distance vision (Wirth circles), colour vision (Ishihara pseudo-isochromatic charts), potential visual acuity (ETDRS system), mesopic / photopic vision, dual-level glare vision and horizontal field of view (45-85 degrees).
Functional Acuity Contrast Test (F.A.C.T.) is the only test meeting the requirements of ANSI and FDA standards, as they include edge anti-aliasing sine wave tests. As a result, the FVA device is used by the FDA in research approving new medical devices on the US market.
The levels of photopic and mesopic illumination have been precisely calibrated (regardless of the external conditions, the luminance is 85 cd / m² and 3 cd / m²), as well as two glare levels (1st degree 10 lux / 1 lux, 2nd degree 135 lux / 28 lux). Thanks to this, the device is used in the world as the basic one in clinical trials of functional vision. Contrast sensitivity tests allow for the early detection of cataracts, glaucoma and AMD, even before the symptoms seen in standard ophthalmic tests appear.
The EyeView® software included with the FVA enables graphical and image analysis of contrast sensitivity curves.
Potential visual acuity tests are the only tests available (apart from electrophysiological tests) to determine the function of the retina in cataract patients, which is crucial when deciding about surgery.
The device is widely used in occupational medicine, especially for examining groups with specific, restrictive visual requirements.
The standard kit includes: computer kit, EyeView® software; as an option: lenses for medium distances.
The analyzes show that this device is widely used in occupational medicine, especially for examining groups with specific, restrictive visual requirements, such as drivers.
