On 15 June 2026, the Electromobility and Transport Automation Centre (CEAT) was officially launched. The new research infrastructure has been established by the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Automotive Industry Institute (PIMOT) to support research and development activities in the fields of electromobility, transport automation, as well as transport system safety.

The project was financially supported by the European Union under Poland’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The total value of the project amounts to approximately PLN 36.4 million, including more than PLN 24.7 million in EU funding. The project aims to develop state-of-the-art research infrastructure enabling the implementation of advanced R&D projects, while also strengthening the competencies of PIMOT’s research staff in the areas of research infrastructure management and technology transfer.

The establishment of CEAT marks another important step in strengthening Poland’s research capacity in the field of modern mobility. Its new laboratories and testing facilities provide favourable conditions for research on innovative transport technologies and may contribute to a more efficient transfer of research results into practical applications. The Centre’s declared openness to cooperation with industry, public administration and the scientific community is particularly encouraging.

CK:PAP appreciates the continued development of Poland’s research infrastructure and regards CEAT as an important addition to the national ecosystem of institutions supporting innovation in the transport sector. The combination of research, infrastructure and expert capabilities across different organisations creates favourable conditions for the development of modern solutions that support the transformation of transport towards greater automation, enhanced safety and increased sustainability.
