New Mobility by CK:PAP
On November 25-26, 2023, experts from the Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Competence Centre (CK:PAP) gave a series of lectures at the Faculty of Automotive and Construction Machinery Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology as part of the Autonomous Vehicles subject.
Classes conducted by representatives of CK:PAP took place during the 10th meeting of postgraduate studies in New Mobility, carried out by the Warsaw University of Technology and the Polish Alternative Fuels Association. The course included 8 hours of lectures, during which various aspects of transport automation were discussed:
- Autonomous vehicles – introduction
- basic definitions;
- history of development of autonomous driving systems;
- classification of vehicles equipped with autonomous driving systems.
- Technology of vehicles with autonomous driving systems
- autonomous vehicles: principle of operation, construction, function of the most important components (LiDAR, RADAR, GPS, cameras, ultrasonic sensors, inertial measurement units – IMU);
- technological challenges related to the development of autonomous driving systems;
- Autonomous vehicles and legislation
- Polish legal standards regulating the area of autonomous vehicles;
- legal standards regulating the area of autonomous vehicles in Europe and around the world: discussion of selected case studies;
- road incidents involving autonomous vehicles: who was at fault – man or machine?
- legal challenges related to the development of autonomous driving systems.
- Autonomous vehicles market
- current and forecast level of commercialization of autonomous vehicles;
- current and projected impact of the autonomous vehicle market on the economy, labor market and transport sector.
The classes were conducted by: prof. Ph.D. engineer Marcin Ślęzak – Head of CK:PAP, Ph.D. Eng. Mikołaj Kruszewski – CK:PAP expert, MSc.Eng. Aleksandra Rodak – Coordinator of international cooperation of CK:PAP.
